Julius D. Parochelli, 88, of 122 Butler Dr. Crystal Falls, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Northstar Health System in Iron River.

He was born August 9, 1922 in Crystal Falls, son of the late Julius and Josephine (Kopi) Parochelli. Julius was a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran serving in Italy, Egypt and Africa. He was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart. Julius married LaRayne Turner in 1947 in Chicago. He was the owner and operator of J.D. Parochelli Construction Company in Palatine, IL for over thirty years. He retired in 1983 and moved back to the Crystal Falls area. Julius was a member of the Elks Club, Lions Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2891. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, and was an avid card player.

Julius is survived by his wife of 63 years, LaRayne; a son, Julius C. (Fran) Parochelli of McHenry, IL; a daughter, Gaye (Terry) Baldocchi of Ingleside, IL; four grandchildren, Nick and Tony Parochelli & Paula and Tim Baldocchi; six great grandchildren, Aimee, Timmy, Joey, Mya, Taylor and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00am to12:00 noon at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Fr. Jeffrey Kurtz officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
